Pretty Damned Zen

Gonna gush for a second.

One of my cocktailing and lifestyle heroes is the lovely Jules Aron. If you don't follow her on Instagram, fix that. RIGHT. NOW. I'll wait here.

I meeeeaaaaan:

I was initially introduced to Jules' lifestyle magic when she released her first book: Zen and Tonic. Which is, hands down, one of my most favorite cocktail books--she really, really opened my eyes to the concept of the "healthy cocktail". I mean, if you fill that glass with some gorgeous superfoods, it kind of balances out the booze. RIght? Right.

And now, Jules has gone and released the most beautiful set of Pretty Zen books: Fresh & Pure (DIY beauty recipes), and Nourish & Glow (beauty foods and drinks) to add to the collection. And I couldn't wait to crack them open and try out a few recipes.

First up, I went after the Strawberries and Cream Face Polish. Because it just sounded delicious and like something I wanted to smear all over my face: fresh strawberries, goji berries, and coconut cream. That's it. It's so damned pure that chickens can eat it right off your face. You know...if that's the kind of thing you spend your free time doing.

And because I was enjoying some me time, I also whipped up a single serving of her Petals and Blooms Beauty Punch which has the loveliest Petal and Bloom syrup made from roses, lavender, strawberries and a slew of other yummy ingredients. Also it has rosé and sparkling wine in it. So. Yes please.

When you're stuck cleaning face polish off the ceiling after a photoshoot, it helps to have a cocktail in hand.
